How we know when someone has passed

Right now it starts one of two ways.

The trusted contact you chose can start it, and only from inside an access session you gave them.

Or we ask you. Every ninety days we email you to check in. If three of those go unanswered we send a final notice with a seven day countdown. If that runs out with no word from you, what you left is released to the people you named.

We do not ask anyone for a death certificate, and nobody here reads your messages to decide.

You can change your trusted contact, change what they see, or take them off entirely, whenever you want, without telling anybody.

Things we will not do with your information

• We do not sell your information.
• We do not mine it, scan it, or use it to train anything.
• We do not show you advertising.
• We do not read what you write to the people you love.

The business model fits in one sentence. If you ever need more storage than the free account holds, you can pay for it. That is it. There is no second way we make money off you.

Where we are not finished

We are a young company, and you should hear this from us instead of finding out later.

Nobody outside this company has audited our security. The encryption is real, it is AES-256, and it is built into the framework rather than added one field at a time, so it does not depend on a developer remembering. But no outside firm has signed off on us, and until one does, we are not going to use the word.

When that changes, this paragraph changes, and it will name the firm and the date.
